Bhakti Marga 10 Year Anniversary Seva - 12 July 2015

"A visit to Christ Chapel Children's home in Huruma:

As the celebrations went on in various countries to mark the 10th Anniversary of Bhakti Marga, we decided to celebrate it by carrying out a Seva at the Christ Chapel Children's home in Kiamaiko slums in Huruma, Kenya.

Christ Chapel Children's home was founded in January 2006 by a young, blessed lady with a great heart named Gloria Ndunge, who saw the need to have a home for children who were roaming in the streets of Huruma area without food and shelter.

She started the home with six children and currently takes care of 64 children who reside at the home. There are 34 boys and 30 girls and some have been there for the last 9 years. The age group is between 1-16 years. They provide food, shelter, education, medical care and all other basic needs for these children. They depend on well wishers, churches and the community to assist them in their daily basic needs.

It was a pleasure visiting the home and seeing the beautiful smiles on these children. The children had a very unique experience on this Sunday during our visit, something they have never experienced before. Bhakti Marga Kenya had organised a Bouncing Castle, Face Painting and a Clown for the children. Not only that, the children were pampered with gifts and snacks that they really appreciated. A big thank you to all the well wishers who donated towards this cause. We had a number of food items, toys, clothes and other consumables donated. We also had a devotee who cleared their medical bill which was highly appreciated by them. Gloria expressed her gratitude to the Bhakti Marga Team and said " Wow! It was the best visit ever. The kids really enjoyed"

It was a fun day for them and for us too. We sang with them, played with them, pampered them with snacks and gifts, served them lunch and cake to mark the 10th Anniversary of Bhakti Marga.
It was a beautiful experience.

Below, please is a small profile from the Home:

CHRIST CHAPEL CHILDREN’S HOME
ORPHANAGE PROFILE

Christ Chapel Children’s Home (CCCH) is a holistic child development institution; it was established
in 2002 and was officially registered with the Ministry of Gender, Sports, Culture and Social Services in 2004.The institution was initiated by Gloria Ndunge who God gave a burden of preaching the Gospel among slum dwellers in Huruma, and in the process she came to the realization that as much as people were receiving the good news, people were living in abject poverty. This is what informed the establishment of the home, because children were the ones who suffered most.

Her passion is to see all children given a chance to go school and have a decent life.
Christ Chapel Children’s Home wants to see a well nurtured orphan and vulnerable child living an adequate physical, mental, moral, social and spiritual life.
Transforming the lives of orphans and vulnerable children by empowering them to live purposeful and rightful lives.

Our goal is to provide shelter, education, and health care to the underprivileged children in the county of Nairobi. We will train them to be good citizens of our country. They will be educated and some will be doctors engineers, teachers, nurses, social workers and good politicians. The Changes in their lives will bring transformation in their families and society, which will be a great benefit to our country.

Today, the Christ Chapel Children’s Home is a caring for children mainly from slums of, Huruma, Mathare and Kariobangi. The center takes care 64 of the boys and girls, provides them with food, accommodation, clothing, education and basic health care. The children are enrolled in public schools nearby the home. They enjoy games and other extra-curricular activities at the center as well in their free time."

Sri Swami Vishwananda Jayanti - 13 June 2015

"Jai Gurudev, 13th June, The most Auspicious and Blessed day for Devotees of Sri Swami Vishwananda. As the rest of the BM world celebrated, we all at Nairobi-Kenya also came together as Bhakti Marga Kenya Spiritual Family.

There were more than 70 people, most of them devotees and some whose life Swami had touched somehow.

It all started with Guru Paduka Puja followed by OM Healing, sharing of Experiences by Devotees, A very Rocking Kirtan by our very own home band Bhakti Sounds Kenya, Aarti, Cake cutting and then Mahaprasad.
What was very beautiful is when Devotees shared their experiences. It only reflected Guruji's Love and Humility.

Each devotee said something different but all we could feel was Guruji's Love, Grace and Humility.
If only we can practice it our everyday life. Guruji showed us that day, if our intention are pure He always Provides. We didn't have sufficient funds to organize the program but everything was taken care of as 13th June approached and we had a beautifully successful celebration.
Thank you Guruji.
At your Lotus Feet in Gratitude and Prayer"

Narasimha Jayanti - 2nd May 2015

Devotees got together on the auspicious day of Narasimha Chaturthi, which was celebrated on Saturday, 2nd May 2015 in the afternoon.

The festivities started with Guru Paduka Puja whilst bhajans were sung by our very own Bhakti Sounds - Kenya.

The Narasimhadev avatar was briefly explained by Khilan followed by Abhishekam and Puja. The significance of each of the steps of the Abhishekam was explained and during this time all the devotees participated and mentally performed each step of the Abhishek within their hearts, keeping the meanings of the steps at heart.

Aarti soon followed with singing and dancing. After a few minutes of silence and contemplation with gratitude to the Masters and Narasingha Dev, everyone enjoyed evening snacks kindly provided by Bejul and Bansi.
